Dr. Ducharme is a board-certified general surgeon who maintains a private practice, Ducharme General Surgery PLLC, in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Ducharme received her medical degree in 1997 at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She completed her general surgery residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center/University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas (1997-2002). She completed her undergraduate education, i.e., a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at Albion College in Albion, Michigan, in 1992.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor attained board certification in general surgery through the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland.
