Paul Shingledecker, MD FACP is a board certified, full-scope internal medicine physician with over 36 years of experience. He presently works out of Hamilton, Montana. Dr. Shingledecker provides hospitalist and outpatient primary care services through his individual practice, Peak Internal Medicine, LLC. As a hospitalist, Dr. Shingledecker specializes in the comprehensive medical care of complicated hospitalized patients including intensive care management and consulting on postoperative and complicated obstetric patients. As a primary care internist, Dr. Shingledecker manages the clinical concerns of outpatient adult patients as well as providing internal medicine and perioperative consultations, transition of care management, urgent care services, dermatologic procedures, and addressing veteran issues. In addition to traditional patients, his practice focuses on the underserved and rural population. As an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine, he has taught medical school, medicine residency, nursing, and physician assistant students. Dr. Shingledecker previously served as an active duty and National Guard medical officer in the United States Air Force from 1983 to 2016, achieving the rank of Colonel. His service included two tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom as a critical care air evacuation physician. He received additional training in military command and aerospace medicine, becoming a flight surgeon. During his distinguished military career, Dr. Shingledecker has held the positions of 140th Medical Group Commander and Colorado State Air Surgeon.
