Educated in the United States, he graduated with his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in 1986. He then went on to complete his internship in general surgery and his residency in otolaryngology at the same educational venue in 1988 and 1992, respectively.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in otolaryngology through the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, which is a non-profit corporation that has set the mission of ensuring professional standards with certificates and memberships and has offered training in the fields of head neck surgery to professionals since 1924.

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Pediatric otolaryngologists are primarily concerned with medical and surgical treatment of ear, nose, and throat diseases in children. They generally provide the following services: diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, and throat disorders, as well as head and neck diseases.

Among his most notable achievements, Dr. Furst has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2011, 2018).
