Dr. Toy is an OB/GYN serving Hickory and the surrounding communities. She is affiliated with Catawba Women’s Center – the provider of choice for Obstetrics and Gynecology for the majority of women in the Catawba Valley region of western North Carolina. They are pleased that patients have chosen to partner with CWC for their special healthcare needs. She joined Catawba Women’s Center in 1998.
Dr Toy completed her Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA in 1986. In 1991, Dr. Toy earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, OH. She went on to complete an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Additionally, Dr. Toy is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that board certifies obstetricians and gynecologists and offers continuing certification to OB/GYNS in the United States and Canada.
To stay up to date in her field, she has been inducted as a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Founded in 1951, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is the specialty’s premier professional membership organization dedicated to the improvement of women’s health.
Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system). Dr Toy has also been on the board of the YMCA, Hickory Farmers Market and is a member and Elder in her church at First Presbyterian of Hickory. She is also a new member of Hickory Sunrise Rotary Club.
With over three decades of experience in the field, Dr. Toy has treated thousands of patients. Dr. Toy stays busy with her husband and three children when she is not in the office or she may be found singing with her church choir or with the Hickory Choral Society.
