He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1983 and 1986, respectively.
Continuously advancing his efforts, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who excel and strive to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
In order to stay up to date in his field, Dr. Mannisi remains a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). He is also a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, the American Medical Informatics Association, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, and the American Heart Association (physician volunteer since January of 2014).
Interventional cardiology is a subspecialty of cardiology that uses various diagnostic tools and imaging techniques to measure cardiovascular functions such as blood pressure and blood flow in major arteries throughout the body and within the different chambers of the heart. An interventional cardiologist specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions and diseases of the heart and blood vessels using nonsurgical, catheter-based procedures and specialized imaging techniques.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Mannisi enjoys running, cooking, and woodworking. He speaks multiple languages, including English, Italian, and French.
