As a dual board-certified proctologist, Dr. Hyder is a surgical specialist who focuses his abilities for the purpose of diagnosing and treating maladies of the colon, rectum or anus. He is affiliated with Kansas Medical Center and Ascension Via Christi St. Francis.

Alongside his clinical role, he serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Kansas.

A 1979 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Dr. Hyder went on to perform his residency at Naval Hospital Oakland in 1985. Years later, in 1988, he served his fellowship at Ferguson Clinic.

With over four decades of experience, he is board-certified in colon & rectal surgery by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, which was established to promote the health and welfare of the American people through the development and maintenance of high standards for certification in the specialty of colon and rectal surgery.

Furthermore, he is board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery, an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Hyder is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS).

Proctology is the medical specialty that focuses on diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. A proctologist is a specialist who diagnoses and treats diseases related to the colon. Proctologists are surgeons, and carry out various investigations to identify diseases and provide the optimum treatment-management.
