Dr. Koehler is a well-versed pathologist who began working with Clin-Path Associates, PLC in 2006. It is Arizona’s largest private pathology practice.
Founded over 40 years ago, the breadth and depth of expertise of Clin-Path Associates, PLC is unmatched statewide. Professional and laboratory services are provided to hospitals, physician offices, surgery centers, laboratories, and other facilities. It is the exclusive pathology services provider to 10 hospitals in the Phoenix metro area, building relationships with a focus on diagnostic accuracy, service, and the continuum of care.
Born and raised in Arizona, Dr. Koehler continues to be dedicated to the state of Arizona and its residents. She graduated from Prescott High School in 1978 and attended the University of Arizona where she graduated with multiple honors, including being named the Outstanding Chemistry Senior. As an undergraduate in Chemistry, she met her husband who was likewise a chemistry student and native Arizonan for at least five generations. She was fortunate enough to remain at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson for medical school and residency where her husband worked as an environmental engineer.
During medical school and residency, she once again received honors in multiple courses, had research projects with publications, and enjoyed the honor of being chief resident. Upon graduation, she has been an active member of the University of Arizona College of Medicine Alumni Board, which represents current students and Alumni with contact support and continuing education.
Named a “Top Doc” by PHOENIX magazine for 2019 and 2020, Dr. Koehler has been the Medical Director for Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital & North Peoria Emergency Center since 2007 and Abrazo Heart Hospital since 2018. She is extremely involved with everything “Arrowhead/Heart” and has been part of the Medical Executive Committee for the past 12 years.
Excelling in her profession, she is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). The mission of the ABPath is to promote the health of the public and advance the practice and science of pathology by establishing voluntary certification standards and assessing the qualifications of those seeking to practice the specialty of pathology.
Pathology is a branch of medical science that involves the study and diagnosis of disease through the examination of surgically removed organs, tissues, bodily fluids, and in some cases, the whole body. Pathologists are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and management of diseases by laboratory methods.
In her free time, Dr. Koehler enjoys moments with her husband and two daughters, traveling, gardening (mainly flowers and tomatoes), hiking, and sharing meals with family and friends.
