Get to know Nephrologist Dr. Sandeep Ghai, who serves patients in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Passionate about the field of nephrology, Dr. Ghai is in practice with Renal Medicine at Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. His areas of interest include kidney transplantation, bone mineral disease, and peritoneal dialysis. 

For patients with kidney disease, the team at Boston Medical Center offers expert, personalized care for all forms of acute and chronic kidney diseases. They specialize in complex clinical problems ranging from consultative nephrology to management of end-stage renal disease (ESRD).

Holding an academic position, Dr. Ghai serves as an Assistant Professor of Nephrology at the Boston University School of Medicine.

Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Transplantation.

A 2006 graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Ghai went on to further his training with a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at Boston University Medical Center in 2009 and 2011, respectively. 

Available as a work / life integration mentor, he is board-certified in nephrology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatric medicine that concerns itself with the kidneys: the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. A nephrologist is a medical doctor who specializes in kidney care and treating diseases of the kidneys.
