A highly accomplished dentist, Dr. Haraden works with patients at Family Dentistry of Woodstock in Illinois. He is experienced in treating dental emergencies, managing pain, performing surgical extractions and root canal treatments, as well as total dental reconstruction. He has a special affinity for treating children and making them feel at ease in the dental chair.
Educated in the United States, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1998 and graduated with honors from the Restorative Clinic. Prior to his dental career, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1983, and a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Marquette University in 1989.
His engineering expertise was put to use during his 12-year tenure at Abbott Laboratories where he designed medical diagnostic instrumentation. He also designed biological detection equipment for the United States Department of Defense, as well as electronics for Honda Motor Corporation. His innovative designs in the dental surgical instrument field have resulted in several United States patents.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Outside of his work, Dr. Haraden is a man of many hobbies and interests. He enjoys riding horses, farming, playing fiddle, training sport dogs, fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling. He takes great pleasure in living in his local community, farming the land, and raising crops. He is also an Assistant Scoutmaster and has been actively involved in scouting for five years.
Happily married, his wife, Donna, works for Baxter in the FDA and Regulatory Affairs Department. His son, Dr. Collin Haraden, graduated from Duke University and Creighton University Medical School, and his daughter, Carlie, is a CPA for Price Waterhouse Cooper in Chicago. She graduated from Notre Dame and the University of Kentucky.
