An exceptional emergency physician, Dr. Geiderman serves as the Medical Director of the Ruth and Harry Roman Emergency Department, Co-Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine, and Professor of Emergency Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Back in 1972, Dr. Geiderman obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Illinois, and attended the University of Illinois Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine for his medical education, graduating in 1976. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Evanston Hospital in 1979, and joined Cedars-Sinai as a staff physician in what is now the Ruth and Harry Roman Emergency Department.
As Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM is one of 24 medical specialty certification boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician works in an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients on an unscheduled basis.
Among his various accolades, Dr. Geiderman has been the recipient of the Illinois Liberal Arts and Sciences Alumni Humanitarian Award (2020), Howard I. Wilner, MD Alumnus of the Year Award (2015), Medical Achievement Award, the Save a Heart Foundation (2005), Friends of Nursing Award (2004), Medical Visionary Award (2004), Jewish Healthcare Foundation Avraham Moshe Bikur Cholim “Ahavas Chesed” Award (2000), and United Hostesses Charities, Humanitarian of the Year Award (1997).
The son of Holocaust survivors, he has four children along with his late wife, actress Roya Megnot Geiderman, who died of a brain tumor in 2009.
