Dr Murphy is a Board Certified orthopedics surgeon who has been in continuous orthopedics practice since 1994. He has personally performed thousands of hip, knee and other types of joint replacements using a variety of techniques and implants. He also has extensive experience in trauma and post trauma reconstructive surgery. He has been practicing in Montgomery County since 2007. Prior to this he practiced in Northwest Indiana. He was born and raised in the great state of Illinois.
Dr Murphy has been actively involved in issues surrounding health care in delivery and access to care since his days as the Chicago Medical Society Student governing Board President in 1989. He believes health care is a human right, and should be treated as such by our society and elected officials.
Dr Murphy has always practiced under the philosophy that, for patients,”knowledge is the best medicine”. He goes the extra mile to educate patients on all available surgical and non surgical options to treat their individual condition. When surgery is the best option, he guides patients through the often daunting process of understanding the technical details and nuances of the relevant surgical options.
