Well-versed in the field of family medicine, Dr. Shahkar welcomes patients at One Medical in Los Angeles, California. She places great value in creating a medical home for her patients in order to treat the whole person rather than just the disease, incorporating preventive care, mental health, and physical health into their overall well-being. She strives to develop a meaningful partnership with her patients that is based on trust, which allows her to get to know their goals, motivation, and values in order to best take care of them. Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Shahkar graduated with her medical degree from the Saba University School of Medicine in 2012. She completed her residency in family medicine at Beaumont Hospital, Troy in 2015.

An authority in her field, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. In her free time, Dr. Shahkar enjoys yoga, traveling, going out to restaurants, and spending time with her husband and son. She is fluent in both English and Farsi.
