Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Milton Leon, who serves patients in San Angelo, Texas.

Recognized as a highly trained and board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Leon is experienced in treating and managing all heart conditions, as well as maintaining and monitoring heart devices. His specialities include consultative and interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular interventions, and nuclear cardiology imaging. He is among the leaders in treatments including complex peripheral vascular interventions using advanced atherectomy techniques, critical limb ischemia, and limb salvage.

His passion to provide patients with customized, individualized care at a lower cost than hospitals led him to operate as an independent cardiologist, and he established the San Angelo Cardiovascular Center of Excellence to provide the most innovative diagnostic tests and minimally invasive treatments available, all in an outpatient setting.

Specializing in the circulatory problems of the lower extremities, Dr. Leon performs noninvasive studies in the office to assess the blood flow to the arteries and veins of the lower extremities. He can also perform minimally invasive non-surgical procedures to restore circulation to the lower extremities.

In his current capacity, he also sees patients at Cardiology Associates of West Texas, where he has been practicing alongside Dr. Gregson Oghafua since 2004. They specialize in heart disease prevention and consultative, interventional, and invasive cardiology. Alongside their nursing staff, they take pride in helping patients maintain good heart health and know exactly what to look for when it comes to treatment and development of a prevention plan that will suit individual needs.

The doctor-duo utilizes the latest in cardiac care technology in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease, pacemaker & defibrillator surveillance, holter monitoring, echocardiography, and stress testing. Additionally, Cardiology Associates of West Texas is the only facility in San Angelo that offers mobile cardiac PET imaging.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Patras School of Medicine in Greece, Dr. Leon relocated to the United States. Once there, he performed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. This was followed by fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine at the Texas Heart Institute of the Texas Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Dr. Leon is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
