What is the fastest way to relieve knee pain?
Thank you for this question. The answer to the question depends on the diagnosis, many problems have different solutions. There are ACL protection exercises that can be found readily online which I currently use as I am a soccer player as well. If it hurts and is not getting better, I would recommend a PM&R doctor or orthopedic surgeon. READ MORE

As a board-certified physiatrist, Dr. Berliner’s primary focus is on caring for patients recovering from spinal cord injuries. He can be found on staff at Craig Hospital – CNS Medical Group in Englewood, Colorado.
Craig Hospital is a world-renowned, 93-bed, private, not-for-profit rehabilitation hospital and research center that specializes in the care of people who have sustained a spinal cord and/or brain injury. The hospital has nine on-site physicians who belong to the CNS Medical Group P.C. and whose full-time practice is in spinal cord and brain injury rehabilitation. They average 14 years at Craig and are among the world leaders in the field.
Prior to joining the medical staff at Craig Hospital – CNS Medical Group, Dr. Berliner served as the Clinical Director of Spinal Cord Injury Medicine at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas.
He is also the Co-Founder of Colorado RSVP Clinic in Englewood. Recognizing that uninsured individuals with disabilities in the Colorado community lacked access to rehabilitation services, a group of rehabilitation professionals joined together in early 2015 with the hope to create a clinic where they could volunteer their time and skills to provide care to these patients. RSVP is dedicated to providing outstanding rehabilitative care that maximizes independence, wellness, and community participation for uninsured people with catastrophic injuries.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Delaware, Dr. Berliner went on to obtain his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He then completed his residency at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in New York, followed by his fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Before long, he became board-certified in spinal cord injury medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The ABPMR was established in 1947 as the certifying body for the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation under the American Board of Medical Specialties. The Board certifies both allopathic and osteopathic physicians.
To further advance his efforts, the doctor remains a member of several professional organizations, including the American Spinal Injury Association, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the International Spinal Cord Society, and the Neurorecovery Network-Health Committee.
In the years leading up to his successful career, Dr. Berliner has been awarded with several honors and recognitions, including Leadership Service Award by the American Spinal Injury Association in 2017, Top Doctors by Denver’s Mile High Magazine in 2017, Top Doctors by the Denver Business Journal in 2016, Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award by UT Health in 2011, Physician of the Year Award by TIRR Memorial Hermann in 2011, and Resident of the Year by the Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone Health in 2008.
Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry and physiatrics, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Physiatrists treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Dr. Berliner’s clinical and research interests include current concepts in neurorecovery, treatment of paraplegic and tetraplegic patients, as well as prevention of secondary complications related to spinal cord injury.
