May be arthritis with clicking popping of joints, muscles or tendons. Physical therapy may be helpful in conjunction with chiropractic manipulations. If worsening, then would need an evaluation by a spine provider (orthopedic surgeon or neurosurgeon or pain management/physical medicine rehabilitation provider who may be able to provide indicated injections if needed). Severe biceps pain?
Severe pain should be evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon. Pain at shoulder may be a SLAP tear, biceps tear or rotator cuff tear. Pain, swelling & bruising at elbow could be distal biceps tear that may need surgery. Pain in biceps muscle belly takes time and TLC. READ MORE
How long does stiffness last after ACL surgery?
You need to work with your physical therapist, orthopedic surgeon, and a home exercise program to regain your motion and strength. Stiffness and swelling can last 12-16 weeks. Most back pain will be resolved with stretching, physical therapy, home exercise program. It depends if your back pain is truly musculature lower back pain or referred pain (kidney stones, bowel/constipation, etc.) Occasionally, one may have a pinched nerve or disc herniation or fracture or tumor causing back pain.
