A dedicated and capable colorectal surgeon, Dr. Bute is in practice with Colon & Rectal Surgical Specialists of New York, at their office in Melville, New York.

Deeply committed to the well-being of his patients, he takes a thorough and precise approach to his consultations to ensure that he is consistently giving accurate diagnoses. He performs both laparoscopic and traditional surgeries for colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis, and inflammatory bowel diseases.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Bute obtained his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.

Possessing clinical excellence, he is board-certified in colon & rectal surgery by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. It is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties that issues certificates for practitioners of colorectal surgery.

On a professional level, Dr. Bute is a past President and member of the New York Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Midwest Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Among his other roles, he can be found on staff at The Mount Sinai Hospital, Northwell Plainview Hospital, and Northwell Huntington Hospital.

Colorectal surgery is a field in medicine dealing with disorders of the rectum, anus, and colon. The field is also known as proctology, but this term is now used infrequently within medicine and is most often employed to identify practices relating to the anus and rectum in particular. A colorectal surgeon is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of anorectal and colorectal conditions (conditions of the colon, rectum, and anus).
