Recognized as one of the top three dermatologists in Cincinnati in 2020, Dr. Long has a special interest in laser treatments and other minimally invasive in office cosmetic procedures. She founded City Dermatology and Laser in 2010 to provide the busy professional with the highest quality skin care. She has lived in the area for over 25 years, and practiced dermatology in Northern Kentucky for 25 years.
Offering both medical and cosmetic dermatology, Dr Long performs the treatments herself and sees every patient, as she wants her patients to receive the highest quality dermatologic care. She values patient safety and provides scientifically proven treatments to keep patients looking their best. The goal for her cosmetic patients is to restore their skin back to its natural best and maintain it with sun protection and topical agents. In office procedures, such as lasers, chemical peels, Botox and filling agents, help to soften the signs of aging with little down time. People who have had these procedures often notice that they look healthy and rested, not like they have, “something done.”
Academically, Dr. Long received her medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 1988. She then completed both internal medicine and dermatology residencies at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Following her training, she attained board certification in dermatology through the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), Dr. Long is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the Ohio Dermatological Association, the Ohio Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Cincinnati Dermatological Society. She served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Cincinnati Dermatological Society from 2008-2010, and as President from 2011-2012.
Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, the largest organ of the body; a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.
In honor of her 30+ year clinical expertise, Dr. Long has been the recipient of a number of awards and recognitions, including Patients’ Choice Award (2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020), On-Time Doctor Award (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020), and Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2020).
On a more personal note, she is married to Dr. Brett Coldiron, another dermatologist and Mohs surgeon. They have two children who keep them quite busy in their off hours.
