Transitioning from research to medicine, Dr. Sun-Wright obtained her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Dallas before relocating to the Houston area to be closer to her family. In 2021, Dr. Sun-Wright founded New Wave Physicians Group after serving in high-level management roles within two large multi-specialty healthcare organizations.
