Get to know Neurosurgeon Dr. Josh S. Bentley, who serves patients in Alabama.

Dr. Bentley is a cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgeon at Southeast Health Surgery Clinic & Southeast Health NeuroSpine Center – both of which are located in Dothan, Alabama. 

Southeast Health Surgery Clinic offers the latest advances and technology in surgical procedures. Its team of physicians are dedicated to providing their patients quality surgical care and successful outcomes in a compassionate manner. 

Southeast Health NeuroSpine Center is dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of patients suffering from disorders of the brain and spine. Its exceptional team of clinical professionals responds to individual patient’s needs by providing innovative, non-operative and operative treatments. Their goal is to help patients with brain, spine and neck problems by increasing their mobility as soon as possible.

Educated in the United States, Dr. Bentley received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in community health from Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He also completed studies in neurosciences with minors in chemistry, psychology, and gerontology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. 

Furthering his education, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from A. T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Mesa, Arizona. He then completed his surgical internship at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center at Midwestern University, his residency in neurological surgery at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center at A.T. Still University, and a fellowship in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery from the Swedish Neuroscience Institute and Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

With years of experience in the medical field, the doctor is board-certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS). The AOBS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the use of surgery to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Neurosurgery is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system. Neurosurgeons are doctors who diagnose and treat problems with the nervous system, often by performing surgery on the brain or spine. They treat strokes, tumors, cervical and lumbar disc disease, infections, and head or spinal cord injuries.

Happily married, Dr. Bentley and his wife, Darci, have two daughters. When he is not working, he enjoys staying active by playing golf and basketball.
