Continuing his educational journey, he achieved his MD in Pathology from the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in 1992, solidifying his expertise in the field.

Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the esteemed Henry Ford Hospital in 1999, before pursuing fellowships in cytopathology at Henry Ford Hospital in 2000 and surgical pathology at the renowned Mayo Clinic in 2001.

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Prasad is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists (FCAP), and Fellow of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (FASCP).

An avid researcher, his work primarily focuses on the Molecular Pathology of GI Cancers, the Pathogenesis of Skin Cancer, Barrett’s Esophagus, and Biobanking. His contributions in these areas have not only improved our knowledge of disease mechanisms but have also paved the way for innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

In addition to his academic and clinical pursuits, Dr. Prasad has played a pivotal role in advancing Human Tissue Biorepository Science.
