As a vascular surgeon, Dr. Tahlia Weis sees patients with carotid artery disease, thoracic outlet syndrome, aneurysm disease, peripheral artery disease (including limb salvage), vein problems and a variety of other issues.
She takes a comprehensive approach to patient care.
“I try and look at the whole patient picture,” she said. “I look beyond the numbers. I want to understand what a patient’s home life is like, who their support system is, and really understand who this person is and what his or her unique needs are. Vascular interventions are customized for the patient.”
For Dr. Weis, the best part of work is forming relationships with patients and families. She also enjoys being an active member of her work community, and she is deeply committed to the training and education of resident doctors.
Dr. Weis is a native Wisconsinite and grew up in West Bend. She completed a Ph.D. in physical chemistry at Purdue University prior to earning her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She completed an integrated vascular surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
