Get to know Radiation Oncologist Dr. Steven L. Anolik, who serves patients in Monroeville, Pennsylvania.

Well-versed in the field of radiation oncology, Dr. Anolik is the Medical Director of the InterCommunity Cancer Center at Forbes Hospital, which is an affiliate of the Allegheny Health Network. His areas of expertise include prostate cancer, lung cancer, and brain tumors.

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is a patient-centered and physician-led health network that includes hospitals, Health + Wellness Pavilions, primary and specialty care offices, and more. As their vision states, they hope to foster “a world where everyone embraces health.”

In addition to his work at Forbes Hospital, Dr. Anolik can be found on staff at Allegheny General Hospital, Allegheny Valley Hospital, and West Penn Hospital, which are also part of the Allegheny Health Network. He also holds medical privileges at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Ohio Valley Medical Center, Mercy Health Tiffin Hospital, Canonsburg Hospital, and Valleycare Northside Medical Center.

A 1986 graduate of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Dr. Anolik completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in radiation oncology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiation Oncology.

Licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, he is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The mission of the ABR is to serve patients, the public, and the medical profession by certifying that its diplomates have acquired, demonstrated, and maintained a requisite standard of knowledge, skill, and understanding essential to the safe and competent practice of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Radiation oncology is a medical specialty that involves the controlled use of radiation to treat cancer. It is one of the three primary specialties – the other two being surgical and medical oncology – involved in the treatment of cancer. A radiation oncologist is a specialist physician who uses ionizing radiation in the treatment of cancer.

As a testament of his dedication to his patients, Dr. Anolik was awarded the On-Time Doctor Award in 2015, and was named as a Top Doctor in Pittsburgh Magazine in 2021.
