He performs his penile implant surgeries using the “No Touch” technique developed by Dr. Francois Eid to minimize surgical infection rates. And unlike most urologists, he performs penile plication for Peyronie’s disease using a minimally invasive technique, “Penoscrotal Plication” without degloving the penis.

Founded in 1949, Mount Sinai Medical Center is the largest private independent not-for-profit teaching hospital in South Florida. Mount Sinai’s Centers of Excellence combine technology, research, and academics to provide innovative and comprehensive care in cardiology, neuroscience, oncology, and orthopaedics. Among a select few original statutory teaching hospitals in the state, Mount Sinai is the hospital of choice for those who seek the level of expertise and care that only a teaching hospital can offer.
Pertaining to his educational background, Dr. Cordon-Galiano earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. He completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in urology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he served as Chief Resident of Urology.
After residency, he continued his training and completed a fellowship in urologic reconstruction, trauma, and prosthetics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center with Dr. Allen Morey. He has performed several hundred urethroplasties and has built a high volume practice serving South Florida and beyond. In addition, he is a faculty member for Columbia University’s Fellowship in Genitourinary Reconstruction and trains fellows rotating with him from New York City.
Licensed to practice medicine in Florida, Texas, and New York, the doctor is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology, whose mission is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, and working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care.

He is involved in medical missionary work, where he provides free urologic reconstruction surgery in Latin America.
Furthermore, he has been invited to speak at both national and international meetings on urologic reconstruction, prosthetics, and men’s health. To date, he has authored or co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, and book chapters on urologic reconstruction, sexual dysfunction, trauma, and prosthetics.
Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Patients may be referred to a urologist if their physician suspects they may need treatment for a condition relating to the bladder, prostate, urethra, ureters, kidneys, and adrenal glands.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Cordon-Galiano is the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2020), On-Time Doctor Award (2018, 2020), and Patients’ Choice Award (2017, 2018, 2020).
