Specializing in diagnostic radiology, Dr. Peterson is a part of the team of professionals at Edison Radiology Group. She is also affiliated with Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey.

Patient-focused and designed around the needs of patients within a comfortable environment, Edison Radiology Group is a leading provider of diagnostic and interventional radiology services in Central New Jersey. The providers utilize the most advanced imaging services and equipment, providing academic level quality with compassionate care. They provide continuous diagnostic and interventional radiology services to JFK Medical Center and Muhlenberg Medical Center, part of Hackensack Meridian Health, and operate three outpatient multi-modality imaging centers in Edison, and Old Bridge.

Academically, Dr. Peterson graduated with her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1984. She then went on to perform her internship and residency in internal medicine at the same educational venue from 1984-1986, followed by an additional residency in radiology at the Hospital of the Medical College of Pennsylvania from 1986-1990.

With over three decades of experience, she is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

Diagnostic radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. A diagnostic radiologist is a physician who uses imaging methodologies to diagnose and manage patients and provide therapeutic options.
