Get to know Family Physician Dr. Johnnie Byrd II, who serves patients in Florida.

Dr. Byrd II is a board-certified physician with over half a decade of experience specializing in family medicine. He works at CenterWell Senior Primary Care - Engelwood Park in Orlando, Florida.

As the Area Medical Director and staff physician, he has seen first-hand how the dedicated and highly trained providers and staff at CenterWell truly understand the needs of the senior population. The entire care team is intentionally cognizant of the resources available to seniors and how to access those resources allocated to benefit each patient.

A firm believer in taking the time to get to know each one of his patients, Dr. Byrd II strives to develop an honest and respectful physician-patient relationship that allows them to open up to him about their health needs because they trust him to provide the best possible care. With their health goals in mind, he then creates an individualized care plan that addresses all their health factors as he guides them along their health journey. 

Back in 2010, Dr. Byrd II graduated with his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He then went on to perform his residency in family medicine at the said establishment in 2013.

Subsequent to his training, he attained board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

On a professional level, Dr. Byrd II is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
