Dr. Hernando is the Managing Director of Morristown Surgical Associates – Atlantic Medical Group in Morristown, New Jersey. He was also twice awarded the Ames Filippone Chairman Award for the resident who best exemplifies the high ideals, compassion, care and style of leadership that characterize Dr. Filippone.
With more than 10 years of experience, Dr. Hernando is dedicated to all aspects of general surgery, including benign and malignant breast disease, as well as gastrointestinal disease including gallbladder, stomach, small intestine, colon, and appendix. He is expert at diagnosing and treating all types of hernias including hiatal, ventral, incisional, groin hernias, and complex abdominal wall hernias. Furthermore, he is a leader in the field of robotic surgery and is able to perform the most complex gastrointestinal and hernia surgeries robotically. He can perform single incision robotic surgery with virtually no scar.
Dr. Hernando’s passion is minimally invasive surgery, with dedication to his patients receiving the best results and the quickest recovery. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their five boys. He also enjoys physical fitness, tennis, golf, skiing, basketball and photography.
