A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Bioengineering, he earned his medical degree from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at TAH-LVHC (now Lehigh Valley Health Network) and his residency in ophthalmology at Hahnemann University. Later, he received additional training as a fellow in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the University of Virginia.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Kazahaya is a Fellow of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (FASCRS), and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

In his professional experience, he has served as Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology at Lehigh Valley Health Network since 2002, and is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine – Lehigh Valley.
