Dr. Wilk is the Chief of the Hip Preservation Service, and Sports Medicine Shoulder and Knee Specialist at Brigham & Women's Hospital. He is an Instructor at Harvard Medical School, and an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Boston University Medical School. Dr. Wilk earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University, and then received his medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel School of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. He completed his orthopaedic residency and a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Tufts University Hospital. Prior to joining BWH, Dr. Wilk was Vice Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. He is a Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine, and an Instructor of Physical Therapy at Simmons College . During his career, Dr. Wilk has developed expertise in treating complex knee and shoulder problems, along with general sports injuries. Over the past decade, Dr. Wilk established himself as one of the pioneers of advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques of the hip in New England, having performed over 1700 procedures. In addition to clinical activities, Dr. Wilk has held numerous leadership positions including Interim Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Lahey, Board of Directors of the Eastern Orthopaedic Association, Treasurer of the Massachusetts Orthopaedic Association, and committee memberships in the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Wilk sees patients at the Orthopaedic Center in the Hale Building for Transformative Medicine, and Brigham & Women’s Health Centers in Chestnut Hill and Patriot Place. He performs surgery at Brigham & Women’s Faulkner Hospital, and Brigham & Women’s Outpatient Surgery Center at Patriot Place in Foxborough.
