Born and raised in the hills of New Jersey, Dr. Tu went to Rutgers University and then the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri for medical school. His medical training involved traveling to several areas across the country, from Florida to Michigan to Pennsylvania. He did his residency in ophthalmology in Dayton, Ohio, after which he began working with Dr. Fichman in 2001, a pioneer of LASIK eye surgery and a leader in the effort to revitalize the Upper Albany Avenue section of Hartford.
