She then went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1985. Upon graduation, she completed her internship and residency at the same educational venue.
Following her education, she became board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. She also attained membership status with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Oklahoma City Obstetrics and Gynecology Society.
