You typically release one egg each month from one ovary and then the other ovary the next month. The release of that egg is referred to as ovulation. It only takes moments for that to happen. Is it safe to have teas and herbs during pregnancy?
Tea contains caffeine as does coffee and some sodas. Generally, limiting your caffeine intake to one or two servings a day is safe. As for the herbs, most are safe but you may want to ask your obstetrician about specific herbs. READ MORE

I know of no change in your hearing with pregnancy. On the other hand it is well documented that you sense of smell may improve dramatically. READ MORE
Does a baby's heartbeat change during pregnancy?
Yes. Typically in early gestation a babies heart rate is 160 to 170 beats per minute. Just before delivery the heart rate is typically 120 to 140 beats per minute. READ MORE
Is bloating a sign of pregnancy?

Yes. We can see babies move on ultrasounds as early as 2 months. READ MORE
What vitamins should I take to increase fertility?
My wife and daughter are Registered Dietitians and we don't know of any vitamin that increases fertility, however no one eats a perfect diet so a daily vitamin is always a good idea. When attempting pregnancy it is best to be on a prenatal vitamin for one to two months before conception. READ MORE
Do preconception vitamins help you conceive?
They may prepare your body for gestation but they will not assist you in getting pregnant faster. READ MORE
How should I prepare my body to get pregnant?
Diet and exercise. A good diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. You may add a prenatal vitamin. If you exercise regularly then continue. If your a non exerciser then start. You don't have to knock yourself out. It has been shown that walking 15-20 minutes three to four times a week can improve your fitness. Finally, avoid tobacco, alcohol and drugs. READ MORE
Will having a cold while pregnant harm the baby?
Generally, not if it is a common cold with nasal and/or chest congestion, sore throat, cough, headache, etc. that last 3-5 days. If you develop a high fever and difficulty breathing you will need to see your doctor. READ MORE
How long should you take folic acid before trying to conceive?
Folic acid is most important in the first 6-12 weeks of pregnancy when the neurological system is being formed. But in order to have enough folic acid available it is ideal to start weeks before conception. Note that most prenatal vitamins have folic acid in them. READ MORE

What is the best fertility drug to get pregnant?
Once its been determined that you need assistance it depends on your individual circumstances. Your medical team can figure out which medicine is best for you. The most widely used medicine is Clomid but this may not be the best for you. READ MORE
How does Clomid help you get pregnant?
There is an area in the brain that measures how much estrogen is in the blood stream. Colmid blocks this system so that this part of the brain thinks there is less estrogen in the blood than is actually there. The brain then increased a hormone called Follicular Stimulating Hormone (FSH) that tells the ovaries to produce more estrogen. The ovaries in turn do this by producing more than one egg per month. The more eggs the better the chance of pregnancy. I also increased the chances of twins. READ MORE

His understanding and use of the highly sophisticated equipment found in the modern surgical suites are grounded in his background and education in engineering. In 1985, he earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, followed by his fellowship in reproductive surgery at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, where he currently holds the position of Director of Residents.
In addition to being a board-certified Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Anding is a member of several professional affiliations, including the American Medical Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Harris County Medical Society, and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
Having been a decorated athlete in earlier years, Dr. Anding was the first Louisiana State University student athlete awarded the National Collegiate Athletic Association All American Academic and Athletic honor and is a member of the Louisiana State University Athletic and Academic Hall of Fame. He maintains his athleticism by running, biking, water skiing and snow skiing. Additionally, he participates in numerous charitable events and has consecutively ridden the 185 mile MS 150 charity bike ride annually from Houston to Austin since 1997.
Outside of medicine, he frequently attends collegiate and professional sporting events where he proudly accompanies his wife and daughter who are the teams’ sports dietitians. He is equally proud of his two sons, one is a forensic scientist and chemist. The other son works in sports marketing having promoted the Summer and Winter Olympics.
Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics, covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, and gynecology, covering the health of the female reproductive system, the vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts. In 2007, he and his lifelong friends bought an abandoned historic Texas town that was founded in 1832.
