Dr. Jason C. Maggi, a distinguished board certified surgical oncologist, is a valued member of RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group in New Jersey. With a commitment to delivering compassionate, cutting-edge care to his patients, Dr. Maggi specializes in a wide range of oncological conditions, including pancreatic cancer and cysts, liver cancer, metastatic colorectal cancer to the liver, gallbladder and bile duct cancers, gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumors, gastric cancer, and minimally invasive/robotic surgery. 

Dr. Maggi’s practice spans across multiple locations, including Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center’s Department of Surgery, Jersey City Medical Center’s Outpatient Services at Colony Plaza, and The Renal and Pancreas Transplant Program at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in River Edge. Having earned his Medical Degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2005 and completed his surgical residency at NYU Langone Medical Center in 2012, Dr. Maggi went on to further hone his expertise with a fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2017. His certifications in general surgery and complex general surgical oncology from the American Board of Surgery reflect his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care for his patients.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Maggi is actively involved in leading oncological organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Surgeons. He is particularly focused on advancing the field of surgical oncology, with research interests that include widening the therapeutic window for surgery in pancreatic cancer, optimizing fluid restriction in cytoreductive/HIPEC surgery, and determining predictive factors for metastatic disease in colon cancer.
