His interest in anesthesiology led to the completion of a secondary residency in anesthesiology at SUNY – Syracuse in 1990.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology since 1991, he is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Florida Medical Association, the American Society of Regional Anesthesiologists, the American Medical Association, and the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP).
