Get to know Urologist Dr. Jeffrey L. Marks, who serves patients in Plantation, Florida

Dr. Marks is a board-certified urologist who maintains a cutting-edge private practice in Plantation, Florida. He has been practicing in Plantation, Florida, since 1990. Dr. Mark has a vast experience that covers diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections, interstitial cystitis, male and female urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, bladder, prostate, and kidney cancer, kidney stones, and more. 

Procedures he performs include Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), in-office vasectomies and cystoscopies, as well as ultrasound, urodynamics, and diagnostic testing. Dr. Marks holds hospital privileges at Westside Regional Medical Center and Outpatient Surgical Services in Plantation. Licensed to practice in the states of Texas and Florida, he has served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida.

Equipped with an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Marks pursued his medical degree at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, graduating in 1983. He then completed a one-year internship (1983 -1984), followed by a one-year general surgery residency (1985 – 1986) and a four-year urology residency (1986 – 1990) at the same educational venue, i.e., Baylor College of Medicine. 

Upon the completion of his training, Dr. Marks obtained board certification in urology through the American Board of Urology. The mission of the American Board of Urology is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to insure the delivery of high quality, safe and ethical urologic care. 

Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs.

Dr. Marks is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), as well as a member of the American Urological Society. Moreover, he is a past President of the Greater Miami Urological Society. He has also been included among Texas SuperDoctors.
