Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Lucie Uncapher, who serves patients in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Dr. Uncapher is a board-certified hospitalist in practice with Northern Colorado Hospitalists, LLC in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Northern Colorado Hospitalists, LLC began providing hospitalist services at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins in 2004 and at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland in 2007. The independent, locally run hospitalist program comprises internal medicine, board certified physicians, each sharing a common passion for patient care and medicine while bringing a diversity of interests and hobbies to the group. “Through personal connections, we provide the highest quality of care to our patients and comprehensive support to our colleagues. Our independent practice model fosters innovation, enhances accountability, and develops leaders who are committed to improving healthcare in our community and beyond” as stated on their website. 

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Uncapher received her medical degree in the Czech Republic, where she grew up. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan in 2016 and moved to Fort Collins shortly afterwards. 

Hospital medicine in the United States is the medical specialty concerned with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. Physicians whose primary professional focus is caring for hospitalized patients only while they are in the hospital are called hospitalists. 

On a more personal note, Dr. Uncapher loves to spend her time outdoors. She enjoys camping, hiking, and skiing. She also enjoys playing the piano and traveling.
