Get to know Family Physician Dr. Alberto S. Del Pilar Jr., who serves patients in Stockton, California.

Dr. Del Pilar Jr. is a board certified, California-based family physician who practices at Kaiser Permanente Stockton Medical Offices. He strives to promote health, prevent illnesses, treat medical conditions, as well as enable recovery and rehabilitation holistically based on current, evidence-based practice guidelines and research.

The doctor’s philosophy revolves around delivering appropriate care, relentlessly seeking the root cause of issues. Meanwhile, his approach to care involves treating patients as if they were his own family members. Dr. Del Pilar Jr. is dedicated to making decisions alongside his patients, always prioritizing their best interests. Additionally, he strives to educate patients about their current medical conditions, collaborating with them to enable them to live life to the fullest.

With his paternal grandfather and father greatly influencing him to become a physician, Dr. Del Pilar Jr. graduated with his Medical Degree from the University of the Philippines Manila College of Medicine in 2002. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in family medicine at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine.

As a testament to his success, Dr. Del Pilar Jr. is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP), Dr. Del Pilar Jr. is an active member of the California Association of Family Physicians and the New York Academy of Family Physicians.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. 

Happily married with two sons, Dr. Del Pilar Jr. likes watching sports (baseball, basketball, soccer, and American Football) and enjoys reading newspapers (The Epoch time) and medical journals, including American Family Physician. He is fluent in both English and Tagalog.
