Get to know Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. James R. Gregory, who serves patients in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Dr. Gregory is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital. His areas of clinical interest include pediatric trauma, pediatric spinal deformity, and surgical management of neuromuscular syndromes. He values patients and their families and tailors his management and care to each individual patient while taking into consideration the needs and goals of their families.

Joining Oklahoma Children’s Hospital in August 2015, he serves as the Medical Director for the operating room at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital, the pediatric orthopedics liaison to The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethany, Oklahoma, and the pediatric orthopedics liaison to the Pediatric Trauma Operations and Performance Improvement Committee.

Beginning his professional pursuits at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Dr. Gregory completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in pediatric orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.

With a passion for teaching, he serves as an Assistant Professor and Co-Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and serves as the Faculty Liaison to the Orthopedic Interest Group.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
