Back in 1987, Dr. Russell graduated with his medical degree from the New York University Grossman School of Medicine. He completed his internship at NYU Medical School/Mount Sinai Medical Center, and his residency at Beth Israel Medical Center. Finally, he completed his fellowship at the University of Florida in 2016.

An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. 

Furthermore, he is board-certified in addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties that issues “certificates of special knowledge” in the specialty of preventive medicine.

Since 2021, Dr. Russell has been serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Florida State University 2021.
