Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Julian Cameron, who serves patients in Tamarac, Florida.
Dr. Cameron, a dual board certified orthopedic surgeon, is the owner of Comprehensive Spine Center, PLLC in Tamarac, Florida.
While he has operated and overseen many successful and complex surgical cases, his resounding belief when treating all individual patients is that there is not a “one-size fits all” solution. Dr. Cameron believes that many spine and general orthopedic conditions can be treated by non-surgical techniques – minimally invasive surgery simply being one option.
With this belief in mind, he has enhanced the physicians and staff at Comprehensive Spine Center, LLC to not only carry out comprehensive evaluations and treatment but to also combine leading edge techniques with proven traditional methods so that they can provide patients with the best orthopedic care/treatment possible, ultimately helping them achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle.
As a Clinical Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Cameron dedicates his time to educating students.
Born in Trinidad and Tobago to parents devoted to healthcare and education, his journey was inspired by their commitment. After completing his undergraduate studies at Morehouse College where he was a founding member of the soccer club and collegiate team, Dr. Cameron continued his medical studies at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. During this time, he actively participated in various roles, including being a founding member of the Little Haiti Community Health Fair, a student researcher at the University of Miami Division of Hand Surgery, and later, a resident researcher focusing on topics such as spinal cord injuries and MRSA infections in the upper extremity. His research efforts have led to numerous presentations and publications.
Following his orthopedic internship and residency at the historically significant Howard University Hospital, along with a subsequent spine fellowship at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Dr. Cameron remains true to his Hippocratic Oath. He stays abreast of new research in his field and shares his knowledge globally, applying the lessons learned to benefit others.
Board certified in orthopedic surgery and surgery of the spine, Dr. Cameron holds the designation of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
On a professional level, Dr. Cameron is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (FAAOS) and a member of the Florida Medical Association.
