  • Can pregnant women see a chiropractor?

Absolutely! Pregnancy starts a whole series of changes within a woman's body. With hormones flowing throughout her body, the body is making room for the little one. Back pain is a common feature of pregnancy. Chiropractic adjustments help realign structures that become misaligned due to ligament laxity (a by-product of hormonal changes). Maintaining chiropractic adjustments throughout the pregnancy can reduce the discomfort associated with the woman's ever-changing pelvic and low back misalignments. In addition, chiropractic treatments have been shown to reduce the discomfort associated with labor and delivery. READ MORE

  • What can cause extreme exhaustion?

In our hectic lifestyles, we seem to be burning the candle at both ends and life makes us feel like the hamster running constantly on the wheel going round and round to nowhere. Fatigue and exhaustion are actually just non-specific symptoms and not a disease. They could be caused by benign things such as lack of sleep or poor sleeping patterns or a result of metabolism, allergies, infection, inflammation, medication, food or some other health condition. These symptoms can be pointing to some potential underlying cause. In order to find the cause, find a healthcare professional that will take a thorough history and perform a physical examination to explore those underlying signs. The solution may be as simple as taking a vitamin or exercise to eating the right foods or learning to control your anxiety. READ MORE

  • Are adjustments dangerous for kids?

Chiropractic adjustments can be safe for people of all ages and conditions. Obviously, a chiropractic adjustment for a baby and elderly person with osteoporosis is different than one delivered to a 26-year old athlete. For a baby or toddler, a chiropractic adjustment using sustained pressure or Activator instrument impulse through the doctor's thumb is an excellent way to help stimulate the healing process. For a young child, a lighter version of manual adjusting or Activator adjustment using the lowest setting works well. For adolescents and teens, regular manual and Activator adjusting are suitable for correcting dysfunction. Obviously, physique and musculature can determine the type of adjustment to be used. For a baby or toddler, a chiropractic adjustment using sustained pressure or Activator instrument impulse through the doctor's thumb is an excellent way to help stimulate the healing process. Personally, I have had the honor of adjusting a 7-day old in which I have used both techniques. READ MORE
