The operating hospice of the McCall Hospice House of Greenville and a department of Bon Secours, Open Arms Hospice provides quality, compassionate care to patients with a life-limiting illness and support for the caregiver and family. Its goal is to enable patients to live each day comfortably and free from pain and symptoms. 

Educated in the United States, Dr. Carey graduated with his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1984. He then went on to perform his internship and residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals, and his fellowship in geriatrics with The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. 

Completing his training in 2005, he attained board certification in internal medicine, geriatric medicine & hospice and palliative care through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Carey is an active member of the American Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine & the American College of Physicians.
