Dr. Whitney earned his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2001 from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology (FIPP). He completed his internship at St. Charles Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, part of the SUNY-Stony Brook Health Sciences System, located in Port Jefferson, New York (Long Island). His post-doctoral training included a fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, Michigan, as well as a fellowship in developmental psychology at The Connections Center in Houston, Texas. Additionally, Dr. Whitney was honored to complete a LEND Fellowship (URLEND) during the 2010-11 academic year. With 16 years of clinical experience, Dr. Whitney has specialized in working with children and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges. He has dedicated 12 years to supporting families and children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Currently in private practice in North Fulton County, Atlanta, Dr. Whitney assists children, adolescents, young adults, and families dealing with issues related to self-regulation, relational development, cognitive dysfunction, self-esteem, and information processing. He also lectures and provides consultation services to hospitals, residential facilities, and school districts nationwide. Recently, Dr. Whitney was appointed to the board of directors of the Atlanta Autism Consortium. He lives with his wife, Jane, and their children in Alpharetta, Georgia.
