A triple board-certified interventional neurologist, Dr. Naravetla specializes in conditions affecting the nervous system, such as epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. He is Medical Director of the McLaren TeleStroke Program and on the medical staff at McLaren Flint and McLaren Macomb.

McLaren Flint is a nonprofit, 378-bed tertiary teaching hospital located in Flint, Michigan. It is affiliated with the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine’s medical residency programs, including family medicine, internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and radiology. It also maintains fellowship programs in clinical health psychology, vascular surgery, minimally invasive surgery and cardiology in partnership with MSU. 

McLaren Macomb is a 288-bed tertiary teaching hospital located in Mount Clemens, Michigan. It provides a full range of services, including cardiovascular care at the Mat Gaberty Heart Center, award-winning cancer services at the Ted B. Wahby Cancer Center, comprehensive orthopedic services, and a state-of-the-art elective Surgery Center. The hospital is verified as a Level II Trauma Center and operates one of the busiest Emergency Centers in the area.

Educated in India, Dr. Naravetla graduated with his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in 1997. Upon relocating to the United States, he performed his residency in neurology at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Furthering his training, he completed his fellowships in endovascular neurology and critical care neurology at Wayne State University and UCSF Medical Center, respectively. 

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in neurology, vascular neurology, and neurocritical care through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.  

Interventional neurology is a subspecialty within neurology. It uses catheters and radiology to diagnose and treat various conditions and diseases of the central nervous system using minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques. An interventional neurologist is a physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with disorders of the nervous system and brain. They perform minimally invasive surgery of the spine, neck and brain. They also diagnose problems such as tumors, strokes, aneurysms, spinal disease, and neck disorders.
