Harry F. ("Hap") Klinefelter III, Ph.D. is a counseling psychologist who has been in private practice in Fort Worth, TX for 30 years.  He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1970 and earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida in 1982. 

Hap was a staff psychologist and Adjuncet Assistant professor at Texas Christian Universtiy from 1984-89.  He then served as Clinical Director of Addiction Treatment at Harris Methodist (Springwood) before entering full-time private practice in 1991.

Dr. Klinefelter is a licensed psychologist and served as president of the Fort Worth Area Psychological Association in 2002.  He provides counseling for adults and adolescents.  Dr. Klinefelter's special areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress management, codependency, addictions, PTSD, men's issues, PTSD, anger management, ADHD evaluation & relationship counseling.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Klinefelter III graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1970. He then received his Master of Education degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1977 and his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida in 1982.

From 1984-1989, he was a staff psychologist and adjunct assistant professor at Texas Christian University. He then served as clinical director of addiction treatment at Harris Methodist (Springwood) before entering full-time private practice in 1991.

Certified by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, Dr. Klinefelter III is also certified as an advanced clinician in Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT).

Among his professional affiliations, he is an active member of the Fort Worth Area Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association.

Psychology is the science of behavior and mind. It includes the study of conscious and unconscious phenomena, as well as feeling and thought. It is an academic discipline of immense scope. Psychologists assess, diagnose, and treat the psychological problems and behavioral dysfunctions resulting from, or related to, physical and mental health. In addition, they play a major role in the promotion of healthy behavior, preventing diseases and improving patients’ quality of life.

In his personal life, Dr. Klinefelter III enjoys golfing, reading, walking his dogs, watching movies and TV, working out, and collecting Zuni fetishes. He also enjoys watching TCU football & basketball, and is a fan of the Dallas Cowboys & the Dallas Mavericks. His favorite place to vacation is in Hawaii.
