A trusted anesthesiologist, Dr. Liu is affiliated with Aurora Medical Group (AMG) Anesthesiology. 

Previously, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin from 2001 until 2010.

AMG Anesthesiology is a Wisconsin-based group of over 90 specialty trained, board-certified anesthesiologists dedicated to providing comprehensive, quality anesthesia and pain management services throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. The physicians have been providing anesthesia services in the southeastern Wisconsin region for over 30 years and have long been recognized as quality leaders.

Graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois Benedictine College, Dr. Liu earned his medical degree from the Finch University of Health and Sciences/The Chicago Medical School. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in anesthesiology with the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in 1998 and 2001, respectively.

With an active medical license for the State of Wisconsin, Dr. Liu is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, anesthesiologists also measure the patient’s respiration.
