Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. D. Renee Pugh, who serves patients in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A dedicated psychiatrist, Dr. Pugh cares for a patient;s mental health, managing a range of psychological issues. She works alongside Dr. James Bruce Tandy at Tandy and Pugh Medical Group in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Some of the services offered at the practice include: anger management, brief intervention, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, marital therapy, motivational interviewing, psychiatric consult / evaluation, psychological evaluation, rational emotive therapy, and substance abuse treatment.

Back in 1982, Dr. Pugh graduated with her medical degree from the Long School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She then went on to perform her residency in psychiatry at Letterman Army Medical Center in 1986.

With over four decades of experience, she is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

In honor of her clinical expertise, Dr. Pugh is the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2011, 2013, 2014) and Patients’ Choice Award (2011, 2013, 2014, 2015).
