Get to know more about Chiropractor Dr. Sokratis G. Dragonas, who serves patients in New Jersey.
A licensed chiropractor, Dr. Dragonas opened his own practice – Sokratis Dragonas, DC PC – in Westfield, New Jersey in 2007, loving the location because it is such a suburban environment, and is, as he says, “full of friendly people.” Dr. Dragonas has also had the privilege to continue to serve the diverse and multicultural community of Elizabeth since 1992, which he thoroughly enjoys being a part of.
One of the most “hands-on” chiropractors in the city, he prides himself on his one-on-one relationships with the people that seek out his help. He not only adjusts his patients and fine tunes their nervous systems, but applies both soft tissue and deep tissue massage personally to guarantee a satisfactory outcome.
Having spent much of his life pursuing athletic endeavors, Dr. Dragonas knew without a doubt that his life path would lead him into the healthcare field. While still in college, he began to make the rounds of medical and chiropractic offices in his area, inquisitive and open to a career that would satisfy his need to heal others. He felt that chiropractic was the answer he was seeking, simply because it was such a natural and effective way to restore wellness to the body.
An alumni of the prestigious Rutgers University, Dr. Dragonas followed up with postgraduate studies at New York Chiropractic College. After graduation, he partnered with a chiropractor in Woodbridge for two years, followed by the opening of his own office in Elizabeth in 1992 and then a new practice in Westfield in 2007.
Grateful for the opportunity to help his patients live better lives, Dr. Dragonas’ extensive experience, proficiency, knowledge, and understanding of complicated health problems makes him a leader in the chiropractic field. His experience began while still an undergrad in chiropractic college, spending time at “Hale House” in Harlem, where he treated children with AIDS and those born with drugs in their system. This has given him wonderful credentials in treating infants and seniors alike…and everyone in between.
Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that mainly deals with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. A chiropractor uses spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other techniques to manage patients’ health concerns, including neck pain, back pain, headaches, vertigo and a long list of other ailments and conditions. They aim to improve patients’ functionality and quality of life by properly aligning the body’s musculoskeletal structure and enabling the body to heal itself naturally, without the use of medication or surgery.
On a more personal note, Dr. Dragonas is proud to call New Jersey his home state. Not only was he raised there, but he also met and married his wife and brought three wonderful sons into the world as a resident of the Garden State.
When he is not in the office helping patients improve their health, he enjoys spending time with his family, especially getting involved in outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, and just enjoying the beach.
