He specializes in electroencephalography (EEG), nerve studies, and electromyography (EMG).

This includes specializing in stroke treatment and post-stroke rehabilitation, sleep disorder management, headache and migraine care,disorders of the brain, spine, nerves, and sensory receptors. Pertaining to his educational pursuits, Dr. Kovacs completed his medical education at the Semmelweis University of Medical Sciences in Budapest, Hungary. From there, he trained at St. Janos Hospital and Peterfly Hospital, before relocating to the United States, where he completed his residency in neurology at the University of Miami School of Medicine, and his fellowship in clinical stroke at Temple University Hospital.
Prior to starting his own practice in 1998, he was a partner at the esteemed Baumel-Eisner NeuroMedical Institute in Miami Beach for over 15 years. He also served as a Director of the EEG Department at the Mount Sinai Medical Center.
