Dentonics is one of the oldest continuously operating dental practices in the Pittsburgh area and is proud to carry on a tradition of dental excellence established in 1925. On the subject of his educational background, he is a 1992 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Along with his outstanding performance on the National Dental Boards, he was the recipient of the Quintessence Award for outstanding achievement in restorative dentistry. He was also awarded the Senior Student Award for outstanding achievement in the field of dental anesthesiology, along with his induction in the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.

Upon graduation, he was inducted into the United States Air force. He received his postgraduate training while stationed at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D. C. His rotations also included the Pentagon along with Andrews’ Air Force Base. While there, he helped to train other dentists during their advanced general dentistry residency program. He achieved the rank of Captain and was honorably discharged from service in 1995.

Recognized as a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), Dr. Frye is also a member of many dental organizations, including the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Dental Association, the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, the Pittsburgh Academy of Dentistry, and the Pittsburgh Dental Network. He further advances his dental training at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) in the fields of functional and cosmetic dental reconstruction.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy. 

Since 2008, Dr. Frye has repeatedly been featured in the Pittsburgh Magazine as one of Pittsburgh’s Top Dentists. He has also been named one of America’s Top Dentists for several years running.

In his personal life, he lives locally and his wife is a nearby teacher.  His three children attend school and are very active in sports.
