Dr. Canal, Jr. is a part of the team of dental professionals at Dental Group at Reston Station in Virginia.

With a focus on preventive, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, the Dental Group at Reston Station is dedicated to clinical excellence in a state-of-the-art environment. The doctors have extensive training and experience in providing a variety of dental services in family general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, crown and bridge restorations, implant-based restorative treatment, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD), oral sedation, Invisalign, sleep apnea appliances, oral surgery, and sports dentistry. They give each patient individualized attention and uncompromising care.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Canal, Jr. completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami in Florida. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1990, where he received Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society Award for Excellence in Clinical Achievement.

A Fellow of the Academy for Sports Dentistry, Dr. Canal, Jr. was elected President of the Academy in 1999 and 2009. His other professional associations include the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society.

Currently, he serves as team dentist for the following organizations: D.C. United – Major League Soccer, U.S. Soccer Federation National Teams, South Lakes High School, and Oakton High School. He is also an Official U.S. Olympic Committee Provider, on the U.S. Soccer Federation Medical Advisory Committee, as well as 

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy. 

Attributing his success to his strong work ethic, Dr. Canal, Jr. has been voted Top Dentist in Washingtonian Magazine, Washington Checkbook Magazine, Virginia Living Magazine, and in Northern Virginia Magazine. He has also received the Distinguished Service Award from the Virginia Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association in 1999. 

In his free time, Dr. Canal, Jr. enjoys traveling and watching sports.
